PRESS: Russian politician calls on watchdog to unblock Twitter
MOSCOW, Jun 5 (PRIME) -- Russian deputy Vladislav Davankov has asked the communications service to consider unblocking Twitter, business daily Vedomosti reported on Monday.
Davankov has requested that the watchdog check deletion by Twitter of information distributed with violations of the country’s law and consider lifting of the restrictions.
The deputy quoted the changes of Twitter’s policy regarding the Russian authorities and journalists as the platform stopped muting their accounts and downgrade them in search results. He said it was the personal decision of Twitter’s owner Elon Musk.
The communications service blocked Twitter in early March 2022 upon the ruling of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
